Saj has been hosting weddings in Mahabaleshwar for more than twenty years, and its layout shows it: five separate event spaces, from a lawn listed for up to 1,000 guests to an intimate stone courtyard, so a three- or four-function wedding can move around the property without ever reusing a space. With 78 rooms and cottages on site, it is one of the most complete wedding venues in the hills.

What Saj on the Mountain is like.
A resort at Metgutad near the Venna river, about five kilometres from the Mahabaleshwar market, with a pool, the Saj Spa, a kids’ play area and a games room. For weddings the draw is variety: one indoor banquet hall and four outdoor spaces of very different sizes.

With five spaces you can give every function its own setting: haldi in the Aangan courtyard, the sangeet in the amphitheatre or Vyom, the wedding on the Royal Palm Lawn and the after-party by the pool. It also means decor can be set up for the next function while the current one is still running.

- One look per spaceA courtyard haldi, an amphitheatre sangeet and a lawn wedding each photograph differently. We plan each look for its setting — fresh and dewy outdoors in daylight, more definition under stage lights.
- Change-over timeWhen functions move between spaces on the same day, the bride needs time to change, not just the decorator. We build in at least an hour between looks.
- Cottages for getting readyCottages give more room and better light than a standard room. If you can, use one as the bridal getting-ready suite.
- Big lawn, big familyA 1,000-guest lawn usually comes with a lot of family looks. We bring a larger team and start the family early so the bride gets the last, calm slot.
