Indian & Asian Bridal Makeup Artist in Glasgow

Scottish Asian couples already travel for vendors. Outfits come from Southall or Birmingham, jewellery is bought on a trip down south, the photographer is often flown up. Bringing in the makeup artist is the same decision made a little further — and in a city with a genuinely thin pool of Asian bridal specialists, a far more ordinary one than it sounds.

Tejaswini at work: bare skin to finished bride.
The team that travels from India for your wedding.

Please read first

Our team is based in India. We travel to Glasgow for your wedding.

Tejaswini’s studio is in Pune, India. There is no UK office and no local artist working under our name. For your wedding in Glasgow, the same artists who planned your looks fly out from India, land two to three clear days before the first function and stay until the last one.

Because the team travels from India, three things are always arranged and paid for by the family: return flights for each team member, accommodation in Glasgow for the full stay, and the team’s meals while they are with you. They sit on separate lines of the quote, so you always see exactly what is artist fee and what is travel. Below is exactly how a UK booking runs, step by step.

Step 1 · The wedding

Your looks, planned before we fly

  • Video consultation for every function: outfits, jewellery and references.
  • A written look-plan for mehndi, sangeet, wedding and reception.
  • Final bridal-party numbers confirmed about 60 days out — this sets the team size.
  • A trial after arrival is possible if scheduled; agree it in the quotation.
Step 2 · Travel

Flights from India

  • Team: Tejaswini plus hair and extra artists as your numbers need.
  • We send names and suggested timings; the family books and pays return flights from India.
  • Usual arrival: Glasgow, via a London or Middle East hub.
  • Please allow checked baggage — the kit travels with the team.
Step 3 · Stay

Rooms near the bride

  • Rooms for the team at or close to the bride’s getting-ready address.
  • Twin-sharing is fine; what matters is being close for early starts.
  • A quiet room or corner near the bride for the kit.
  • Booking confirmations shared with us before the team travels.
Step 4 · Food & on-ground

Meals and transfers

  • The team’s meals through the stay are taken care of by the family.
  • At the hotel, the venue or at home — whatever is easiest on the day.
  • On early-start days, something quick before the first sitting keeps the schedule on time.
  • Airport and venue transfers arranged with your planner or family.

Included in our fee

  • Bridal makeup and hairstyling for each booked function
  • Saree, lehenga and dupatta draping; jewellery setting
  • Family and bridal-party makeup, per person as quoted
  • All professional products and kit
  • Look planning, video consultations and touch-up support as agreed in the quotation

Arranged and paid by the family

  • Return flights from India for every team member
  • Accommodation in Glasgow for the full stay
  • Meals for the team throughout the stay
  • Airport and local transfers between venues
  • Any excess baggage charges for the kit

Real brides

Built for hall light, because that is all Scotland offers.

Almost every Scottish Asian wedding happens indoors, under lighting designed for a room rather than a face, shot with flash. The relevant test below is how the base behaves in warm interior light — which is precisely where a heavy base goes flat and a lighter, luminous one holds.

Scottish traditions

A smaller community, and a much smaller vendor pool.

Glasgow and the west of Scotland hold long-established Sikh, Punjabi and Pakistani communities, with smaller Gujarati, South Indian and Bengali populations. Families routinely travel in from Edinburgh and further north for the wedding week.

Four more come up across Scotland and are planned identically. Muslim bridal work has its own portfolio page; the rest are described rather than illustrated because no photographed set is published here yet.

On video

Judge it here, because you have fewer artists to compare in person.

This matters more in Scotland than anywhere else on this site. With a small local pool, footage of actual sittings does more of the deciding than a consultation you cannot easily get.

Travel & logistics

Running a Scottish wedding week from Pune.

The longest travel leg on this site, so the planning around it is the most deliberate.

Tejaswini travels to Scotland for one wedding at a time, with your dates blocked out end to end including the days either side. She flies into Glasgow, usually via a London or Middle East hub, and stays within easy reach of the first getting-ready address — on a winter morning that may start in complete darkness, a long transfer is not a risk worth taking.

Because the Scottish leg is longer than any English one, the buffer is longer too: she lands two to three clear days before the first function at minimum, never the night before. That covers flight disruption on a two-leg journey, recovery from a long-haul overnight, and leaves room for a physical trial in Glasgow if you want one. Flight details are sent to you in writing once booked.

The kit travels as hand luggage wherever airline rules allow, with duplicates of the critical products split across bags. For Scotland it is packed almost entirely for indoor warm lighting and flash photography, because that is where virtually every function happens. The one exception is the daylight window, which in Scotland moves enormously by season and has to be planned for specifically.

That daylight question drives the whole schedule here. A December Glasgow wedding loses usable light in the middle of the afternoon; a June one keeps it past nine at night. That moves when your photographer wants portraits, which moves when the look needs to peak, which moves the start time. So the photography timings are asked for at enquiry rather than at the end, and the week is built backwards from them together with you and your photographer.

Travel within Scotland is treated as part of one booking rather than separate jobs. If the mehndi is in Glasgow and family are travelling in from Edinburgh or further north, that is accounted for in the schedule and the quote. Each day runs to a written running order agreed beforehand, with bridal-party numbers settled at quote stage so staffing is booked rather than improvised.

Where these weddings happen

Where Scottish Asian weddings happen.

Glasgow has fewer purpose-built Asian wedding venues than the English cities, so celebrations tend to land in large flexible event spaces, city-centre heritage venues and country estates just outside. A starting point for scoping.

These are well-known venues in the area, listed to help you scope the search. They are not partners or affiliates, and none of them has been personally vetted — always confirm getting-ready rooms, timings and supplier rules directly with the venue.

The week

Mehndi, the ceremony, the reception — almost all indoors.

Scottish weeks tend to be slightly shorter than Midlands ones and almost entirely interior, which shapes every decision about the base.

Scottish specifics

Daylight is a scheduling variable here, not a detail.

Scotland swings further through the year than anywhere else in the UK, and that moves when your photographs actually happen.

Winter loses the light mid-afternoonA December Glasgow wedding has usable daylight for a narrow window. That pulls the portraits earlier, which pulls the makeup peak earlier, which pulls the start time earlier again. Agree the photography timings with your photographer before the schedule is fixed.
Summer keeps it until very lateThe opposite problem. A June wedding can shoot outdoors at nine in the evening, which means the look has to still be holding then rather than having peaked at noon.
Nearly everything is indoors and warmHotel ballrooms and function suites lit for the room and shot with flash. Base and contour are built for warm interior light specifically, which is a different decision from daylight work.
Guests arrive from across ScotlandFamily travelling in from Edinburgh, Aberdeen and further changes the morning. Say who needs hair and makeup and when they realistically arrive, so the running order is built on actual arrival times.

Booking it

Photography timings first, then everything else.

Because Scottish daylight moves so much through the year, the photography window is what the rest of the schedule is built around.

Dates, venue and photo timings

Send your dates, the venue, and when your photographer plans the portraits. In Scotland that timing drives the whole morning.

📄02

An itemised quote in pounds

Artist fee per function, with family-paid flights, accommodation and meals shown on their own separate line rather than bundled in.

✈04

Arrival with an extra-long buffer

Two to three clear days minimum, because the Scottish leg is a two-flight journey. A physical trial in Glasgow is possible once she has arrived.

Fair questions

What Scottish couples raise.

The genuine objections, answered rather than deflected.

“Flying someone from India to Scotland sounds expensive.”The longest travel leg of any city on this site, and the fairest objection on this page.
Which is exactly why it is quoted separatelyYou see the family-paid flights, accommodation and meals as their own line rather than buried in the artist fee, so you can judge whether the travel is worth it against the Scottish artists available on your date. If it is not, that is a reasonable conclusion to reach from the quote.
“Will she understand a Scottish winter wedding?”A real difference, and not an obvious one from Pune.
The daylight question is asked before the schedule is setWhich is why photography timings are the first thing requested rather than the last. A December Glasgow wedding and a June one need different morning schedules, and that is decided with you and your photographer rather than assumed.
“Has she worked in Scotland before?”Straight question.
No, and she says so rather than implying otherwiseFourteen years and a thousand-plus brides across India, plus destination weddings in Goa, Udaipur and Jaipur. Scottish weddings are new and taken on the same travel model. Compare the portfolio above with the Glasgow artists free on your date.

Scotland questions

What Glasgow couples ask first.

Twelve, answered properly. WhatsApp usually replies the same day allowing for the time difference.

Do you travel to Scotland for Asian and Indian weddings?

Yes. Tejaswini flies in from her Pune studio and stays for the full wedding week rather than the wedding day alone. The travel leg is longer than for English cities, which is precisely why family-paid flights, accommodation and meals are quoted as a separate visible line.

Is the team based in the UK?

No. Tejaswini’s studio is in Pune, India. For your wedding in Glasgow, the same team that plans your looks travels from India to the UK, arrives two to three clear days before the first function and stays until the last one. There is no UK office and no local artist working under our name.

Who arranges the team’s flights, hotel and food?

The family. Return flights from India for each team member, accommodation in Glasgow for the full stay and the team’s meals while they are with you are arranged and paid for by the client, along with local transfers between venues. These sit on separate lines of the quote, apart from the artist fee.

Do you cover Edinburgh and the rest of Scotland?

Yes. Weddings elsewhere in Scotland are quoted the same way, with travel within the country accounted for inside a single booking rather than charged as separate jobs.

Does the Scottish daylight really change the makeup?

It changes when the photographs happen, which changes when the look needs to peak, which changes the start time. A December wedding loses usable daylight mid-afternoon; a June one keeps it past nine at night. Agree the portrait timings with your photographer early and the rest of the schedule follows.

We want a natural, lightweight look rather than heavy coverage.

That is the default here. It also performs better in Scottish conditions specifically, because almost every photograph is taken indoors with flash, and that is exactly where a heavy base turns flat and grey on camera.

Almost everything is indoors here. Does that matter?

Yes, and it is planned for. Hotel ballrooms and function suites are lit for the room rather than the face, so the base and contour are built for warm interior light rather than daylight portraits.

What does it cost?

Quoted individually in pounds, depending on the functions, how many people beyond the bride need hair and makeup, and the travel dates. Send your dates and venue for an itemised written quote with travel shown separately.

Can you start before dawn for an Anand Karaj?

Yes, routinely. In a Scottish winter that can mean starting in complete darkness, which is fine but needs the running order confirmed early.

Do you do hair as well as makeup?

Yes, plus lehenga, saree and dupatta draping — the hairline, the maang tikka and the drape are one job rather than three.

Can you cover family and bridesmaids?

Yes. Give the likely maximum at enquiry and note when people are actually arriving, since Scottish guests often travel in from other cities on the morning itself.

How far ahead should we book?

Earlier than you would in England. With a smaller pool of Asian bridal specialists in Scotland, Saturdays fill quickly at both ends, and the travel has to be planned around your date.
