Cappadocia · Central Anatolia
Fairy chimneys, cave suites and a sky full of balloons at dawn. Cappadocia is where Indian couples come for the most dramatic portraits of their wedding, and the makeup has to be ready long before the sun is.

The short version
Most Indian couples come to Cappadocia for a pre-wedding or post-wedding shoot, or for a very small ceremony with close family. Tejaswini’s team flies from India, usually as an add-on to an Istanbul or coastal wedding, and prepares the bride in her cave suite before dawn. The team’s flights, internal transfers and rooms are paid by the client.
Because balloons only fly when the wind allows, we always ask for a spare morning in the plan.

Who does your makeup
A balloon-sunrise shoot gives no second chances: makeup starts in a dim cave room hours before dawn, the air is cold and dry, and the light changes minute by minute. It needs an artist who has done enough early mornings to work fast without cutting corners. Tejaswini has been preparing brides since 2012, more than a thousand of them, many on wedding mornings that start long before sunrise.
Her style suits the camera that close: a carefully prepared, hydrated base, cream textures that do not look dusty in dry air, and eyes defined enough to hold up in wide landscape frames. She leads every bridal look herself and plans it with the bride beforehand, so the dawn session is about execution, not decisions.
Her destination work so far has been across India, with brides also travelling from abroad to book her. In Cappadocia the team flies in, often after an Istanbul or coastal wedding, and keeps a spare morning in the plan for the balloons.

A short flight after a Bosphorus wedding, with the same team.
A balloon morning
Times are relative to sunrise, which moves through the year. We fix the exact plan with your photographer and the balloon operator.
Lights set up; cave rooms are dim, so we bring daylight lamps.
Richer hydration for dry, high-altitude air.
Long-wear, built to last a cold morning outdoors.
A shawl or coat ready for the walk to the terrace.
Balloons inflate in the half-light.
One artist stays close with powder, lip and pins.

Know the climate
| Factor | What it means | What we do |
|---|---|---|
| Altitude | The towns sit at over 1,000 m | Extra hydration; long-wear products |
| Dry air | Skin can look flat or flaky | Richer prep, cream products over powders |
| Cold dawns | Even in May, mornings can be chilly | A wrap or coat planned into the look |
| Dust | Valleys are sandy and dry | Outfit carried, not dragged; touch-up kit on site |
| Cave rooms | Thick walls, small windows | Daylight lamps for makeup |

Usually two to three hours before sunrise, depending on the look and the number of people.
Flights depend on wind. We recommend keeping a second morning free if balloons are essential to your photographs.
Yes. It is about 75 minutes by air from Istanbul. Add the team’s internal flights and an extra night or two.
Uçhisar and Göreme are closest to the classic balloon views; Ürgüp is quieter with restored mansion hotels.
Early mornings can be cold for much of the year, and winters bring snow. We plan wraps and warmer hairstyles into the look.
