India-based artists, flying to Venice for your wedding.

This is an India-based team: Tejaswini and her artists live and work in Pune and travel out for each booking. For Italy the team lands early, so nobody is rushed on the first morning.

The client covers the team’s airfare, Schengen visa fees and hotel rooms; these are quoted at cost, apart from the artist fee.

In one paragraph

Booking an Indian bridal makeup artist for Venice

Tejaswini’s India-based team covers Venice weddings end to end: bridal makeup and hair for each function, draping, and makeup for the family and bridal party. The team lands at least a day before the first event and stays at or near your hotel. Flights from India, Schengen visas and rooms for the team are paid by the client and shown separately in the quote.

Venice suits families who want spectacle: palazzi on the Grand Canal, boat processions and evening light on the water. Every movement is by boat, so timings need more planning than anywhere else in Italy.

Your artist in Venice

Tejaswini: fourteen years of Indian brides, now on the Grand Canal.

The person behind this page is Tejaswini, a Pune-born bridal makeup artist who has styled more than a thousand brides since 2012. She runs Tejaswini Makeup Studio & Academy in Baner and still takes every bridal booking herself.

Venice is all reflected light: water below, pale stone and gilded interiors at night. Her signature, a thin, well-prepared base with clean definition around the eyes, keeps the bride looking like herself in that light.

In a city with no cars, the plan is everything. Every morning is written down with boat times before anyone flies.

What a Venice bride gets

  • Two planning conversations (a third if needed) covering outfits, jewellery and venue light
  • No rushed trial: looks are decided in advance with your real styling
  • Tejaswini personally on every bridal look, with her own team for family makeup
  • A written timetable shared with your planner and photographer

Where the weddings happen

Palazzi on the Grand Canal, resorts on the islands.

Indian weddings in Venice use two kinds of venue. In the city, historic palazzi on the Grand Canal host ceremonies, sangeets and receptions in frescoed ballrooms, with guests arriving by boat. Out in the lagoon, island resorts such as JW Marriott on Isola delle Rose offer gardens, lawns and space for larger groups.

Everything moves by water. Water taxis carry small groups quickly; larger boats move guests between the island and the city. Walking through the centre in bridal clothes is possible but slow and crowded.

For makeup, we plan backwards from boat times. The bride gets ready where she is staying, and an artist travels with her to the venue for a final check on arrival.

Allow this much time

Typical travel times the bridal team plans around.

Rough door-to-door estimates. Traffic, ferries and season change them, so we add a buffer to every one.

  • Marco Polo airport (VCE) to the centre by water taxiAbout 30 min
  • Marco Polo to the centre by road and boat45–60 min
  • San Marco to Isola delle Rose by boatAbout 20 min
  • San Marco to a Grand Canal palazzo by water taxi5–15 min
  • Venezia Santa Lucia station to San Marco by water taxi15–20 min
  • Milan to Venice by high-speed trainAbout 2.5 hours
  • Venice to Lake Garda by roadAbout 2 hours

Book water taxis and private boats well in advance for wedding days. If the baraat arrives by boat, we pin the dupatta firmly and avoid loose face-framing hair.

Light and setting

How Venice changes each look.

Venice gives you lagoon light from every side by day and candle-lit, gilded rooms by night. Each function’s makeup is planned for the light it will be photographed in.

Acqua alta: in autumn and winter, high tides can flood low parts of the city. Your planner tracks forecasts; we keep the bride’s route dry and her hem lifted.

Questions

Venice wedding makeup: what families ask.

Do you travel from India for Venice weddings?

Yes. The team flies from Pune and covers every function for the bride, family and bridal party.

Which Venice venues do Indian families choose?

JW Marriott Venice on Isola delle Rose for larger groups, and palazzi such as Palazzo Pisani Moretta and Aman Venice on the Grand Canal. Each has its own guide here.

Can the baraat arrive by boat?

Yes, it is the Venetian way. We set hair and dupatta for wind and send an artist on the boat.

How large can a Venice wedding be?

Palazzi suit smaller to mid-sized events; island resorts handle larger groups.

When is the best time?

April to June and September to October; summer is hot and crowded.

How many days before should the team arrive?

At least one full day before the first function.

What does the family need to send for the team’s visas?

Confirmed rooms, flight bookings and a short letter describing the event. We send the exact list per person.

Can you do a Venice pre-wedding shoot?

Yes, ideally at sunrise, when the canals and squares are empty.
