A little history
Taormina’s first grand hotel, beside the ancient theatre.
Grand Hotel Timeo opened in 1873, when Taormina was becoming a stop on European travellers’ tours, and it is the town’s oldest grand hotel. It sits right beside the Greek theatre, in terraced gardens overlooking the bay.
Writers, artists and royalty have stayed here, and today it is run by Belmond, with terraces and gardens that suit ceremonies and dinners.
For a bride, the setting is extraordinary: ancient stone, the sea and Etna in one frame. We plan the ceremony look for that late-afternoon light.
