Indian Bridal Makeup Artist in Koh Samui
Tejaswini travels from her Pune studio for Indian and Hindu weddings on Samui - planning bridal makeup, hairstyling and draping across every function of an island celebration. Fourteen years of Indian bridal work, more than a thousand brides, and a look designed around you rather than adapted from a resort package.

Real brides, real work
Every face on this page is her work.
No stock photography and no borrowed portfolios. These are brides Tejaswini has personally made up, hair-styled and draped. Look at skin texture, eye balance, the hairline, and whether each bride still looks recognisably like herself.

In motion
Watch the work, not the claims.
Photographs are edited. Film is harder to hide behind - which is why these are here.
Fourteen years, in ninety seconds
What a decade and a half of Indian bridal work actually looks like - across traditions, functions and skin tones.
Start to finish, one bride
The full process from bare skin through to the finished bridal look, uncut.
The classic Indian bridal look
Red, gold and kundan - the look most brides picture, built to photograph properly under any light.
Four looks, one celebration
How a multi-function wedding is planned as a sequence so no two looks repeat.
Why brides fly her in
Samui has makeup artists. It has very few Indian bridal artists.
That distinction is the whole argument. A skilled artist who has spent a career on Western bridal will do beautiful work - and still have never pinned a dupatta for a baraat, set a maang tikka so it sits level under a veil, or built a base that holds through four functions in Gulf-coast humidity.

Pricing

Venues
Where Indian weddings happen on Samui.
Tejaswini travels to any venue on the island. These are the properties most often chosen for Indian and Hindu celebrations here. Each has different getting-ready space, different light in the bridal suite and different transfer times - all of which shape the morning schedule before a single brush comes out.

Published packages for the clifftop properties run roughly USD 80,000 to 140,000 for a two day wedding at around 50 guests. Typical guest range on Samui: 20 - 120 guests. Marrying at a property not listed here? It is very likely still workable - send the name.
The part nobody explains
What Koh Samui does to bridal makeup.
Samui is the quieter alternative to Phuket - clifftop villas, smaller guest lists, and a season that runs almost opposite to the rest of Thailand. It also has its own effect on how a bridal look has to be built, and almost nobody writes about that honestly.

Outdoor daylight work from her portfolio - the same principles apply on an island, only harder.
Every function
Six looks, planned as one wedding.
A destination wedding is not one makeup booking. It is five or six looks across three or four days, each of which has to read differently in photographs while still looking like the same bride - and each of which is affected differently by an island climate.

Family and guest makeup - mother of the bride, sisters, bridesmaids - is scheduled around your ready-by time, with additional artists arranged where the headcount needs them.
Timing
When to marry on Samui.
Koh Samui (USM) connects through Bangkok and Singapore. Guests flying from London, New York, Toronto or Dubai route through Bangkok or Singapore; from India, through Bangkok.

| Window | What to expect |
|---|---|
| January - April | The best window. Dry, bright, and comfortable for outdoor pheras. Peak demand at the villa resorts, so enquire 12 to 18 months out. |
| May - September | Still largely dry on the Gulf coast and noticeably better value. This is the window that surprises couples, because it covers months when Phuket is in monsoon. |
| October - December | Samui wet season, with November typically the heaviest. The one window to plan around on this island. |
How it works
From first message to the last function.
Nothing here is assumed and nothing is verbal. Every stage is confirmed in writing before the next one starts, which matters more on a destination booking than a local one - you cannot drop in to sort out a misunderstanding.
Enquiry and date check
Send your dates, the property, every function you need covered and roughly how many family members also need hair and makeup. Availability is usually confirmed the same day. If the date is gone, you are told immediately rather than kept warm.
Written quote
Artist fee per look or per function, with flights, accommodation and travel days itemised separately. Team requirements where the family headcount needs a second pair of hands. No package that hides what you are paying for.
Look consultation
A proper conversation, not a form. Your outfits function by function, your real jewellery, your references, what you like about them and - more usefully - what you do not. Skin type, how you normally wear makeup, and how much is too much for you.
Video look confirmation
Tejaswini does not run an in-person practice trial before a destination wedding. Instead, the look is finalised over video against your actual outfit and jewellery, then confirmed again in person on arrival in Samui before the first function - so it is agreed, not guessed.
Skin preparation
The part that decides how the base sits. You get a plan for the weeks before - what to start, what to stop, and specifically what not to try for the first time close to the wedding. Most base problems on the day were created a fortnight earlier.
The wedding week
She arrives a day ahead, confirms the room and the light, agrees the running order with your planner and photographer, and works the full sequence of functions through to the reception.
Being honest about it
What actually worries you about booking from abroad.
These are the real fears couples describe when hiring a makeup artist for a destination wedding. Pretending they do not exist is how vendors lose trust - so here they are, with what is actually done about each.
On the ground
Planning a wedding on Samui, practically
The things that change how a wedding week actually runs on this island - and that nobody mentions until you are already there.
Questions
Everything couples ask before booking.
Twenty-four of them, answered properly. If yours is not here, message on WhatsApp - it is usually answered the same day.
Do you travel to Koh Samui for Indian weddings?
Yes. Tejaswini travels from her studio in Pune to Koh Samui for Indian, Hindu, Punjabi and Sikh weddings, and works the full sequence of functions rather than the wedding day alone. Travel and accommodation are quoted separately and transparently.
Have you worked weddings in Thailand before?
Her destination work to date has been across India - Goa, Udaipur, Jaipur and multi-day celebrations in other cities - along with brides who have booked her from overseas, including one who hired her from Dubai. Thailand bookings are taken on the same basis. We would rather tell you that plainly than imply a Thailand history that does not exist yet.
How far in advance should we book?
As a minimum, get in touch at least 6 months ahead. For peak Samui dates between January and April, enquire 12 to 18 months ahead - the same lead time the villa resorts themselves require. Shoulder season from May to September is more flexible, but destination bookings always need more notice than a wedding at home.
We live in the US or UK. Do we get a trial before the wedding?
Not an in-person practice trial before the day - that is not something Tejaswini offers on a destination wedding. Instead, the look is finalised over video against your actual outfit and jewellery well before you travel, then confirmed again in person on arrival in Samui before the first function. Most overseas brides find this combination gives them the confidence a trial would, without a separate trip.
Will the makeup last in Koh Samui humidity?
Humidity on Samui sits between roughly 78 and 85 percent year round, so the base is built for it from the start rather than corrected later - thinner layers, harder setting, and water-resistant products chosen at the planning stage. Touch-up points are scheduled into the running order for outdoor functions.
Can you also do makeup for the mother of the bride and family?
Yes. Family and guest makeup is scheduled around the bride ready-by time, with additional artists arranged where the headcount requires it. Share the numbers at enquiry stage - it is the detail that most often reshapes the morning timeline.
Do you do Punjabi, Sikh and North Indian bridal looks?
Yes. Her portfolio covers Punjabi, Sikh, North Indian, Marwari and Hindu bridal styling, plus engagement, mehendi, haldi, sangeet and reception looks. Send your outfit, drape and jewellery references, because every family styles differently.
What does it cost to fly you to Koh Samui?
The artist fee is quoted per look or per function, with flights, accommodation and travel days shown separately on top so you can see exactly what each part costs. Send your dates, venue and function list for a written quote.
Who pays for flights and accommodation?
The couple covers travel and accommodation, quoted openly in the proposal rather than hidden inside a package price. Where the venue already has rooms allocated for vendors, that usually reduces the cost.
Do you bring your own makeup products?
Yes. She travels with her full professional kit, including HD and airbrush products selected for Indian skin tones. Nothing depends on what can be sourced locally on the island.
How many functions can you cover?
As many as your celebration has. Mehendi, haldi, sangeet, the wedding day and the reception are planned together as a sequence so no two looks repeat - which is the main reason to book one artist for the whole wedding rather than several.
Do you do hair as well as makeup?
Yes, and it is a deliberate part of the offer. Control over both makeup and hair is her stated strength, which allows the complete look to be visualised together rather than assembled by two people who have not spoken.
Can you drape a saree or lehenga dupatta?
Yes. Draping is included in the bridal package along with jewellery and dupatta setting. For a baraat or an outdoor ceremony the pinning is planned around movement and wind rather than done for a static photograph.
Do you provide hair extensions or accessories?
Extensions and padding can be arranged and are quoted as an addition. Tell us at consultation stage what your hairstyle needs so it is carried rather than sourced in a hurry on the island.
When do you arrive before the wedding?
At least a full day before the first function. That buffer is part of the written agreement, not a courtesy, so nothing about your wedding depends on a flight landing on time.
What if our ceremony starts at sunrise?
Entirely workable, and common for pheras. It means a 3am or 4am start, which is agreed at booking so the whole morning is built around it rather than discovered the night before.
Will you coordinate with our planner and photographer?
Yes. The running order is agreed with your planner, and the photographer is told when the bride will be ready so the getting-ready coverage and first-look timings actually work.
How do payments and booking work?
The booking amount and payment schedule are set out in the written quote before anything is confirmed. Nothing is agreed verbally, and any change in your requirements produces a revised quote rather than a surprise invoice.
Do you use airbrush or HD makeup?
Both, chosen for your skin and the conditions rather than sold as a premium upgrade. On a humid island wedding the decision leans toward what will hold for twelve hours outdoors, which is confirmed during the video look consultation.
What skin preparation should I do before the wedding?
You get a plan for the weeks beforehand - what to start, what to stop, and specifically what not to try for the first time close to the date. Most base problems on a wedding day were created a fortnight earlier by a new treatment.
Can you recreate a look from a photograph I have saved?
Usually, and honestly if not. Some saved looks depend on a face shape, an outfit or a light that is not yours. She will tell you what will translate, what will not, and what to adjust so the result suits you rather than the original.
What if my outfit or jewellery changes after the video look confirmation?
Tell us as soon as it does. A change of outfit colour or jewellery weight can change the whole balance of the look, and it is far easier to adjust in advance than on the morning.
Do you travel to other parts of Thailand?
Yes - Phuket, Bangkok, Krabi, Khao Lak, Hua Hin and Chiang Mai. Each has a different season and a different set of venues. See the dedicated pages for Phuket, Bangkok and Krabi, or the Thailand overview for the rest.
What are the best months for a wedding in Koh Samui?
January to April is the strongest window - dry, bright and comfortable for outdoor pheras. May to September stays largely dry on the Gulf coast and costs less. October to December is the island wet season and the window to plan around.
