Booking an Indian bridal makeup artist for the Amalfi Coast

Tejaswini’s India-based team covers Amalfi Coast weddings end to end: bridal makeup and hair for each function, draping, and makeup for the family and bridal party. The team lands at least a day before the first event and stays at or near your hotel. Flights from India, Schengen visas and rooms for the team are paid by the client and shown separately in the quote.

The Amalfi Coast suits smaller, very romantic weddings: 30 to 150 guests, cliff-top gardens and sea views in every photograph. Large weddings struggle with space, roads and steps.

Your artist in Amalfi Coast

Tejaswini: fourteen years of Indian brides, now above the sea.

The person behind this page is Tejaswini, a Pune-born bridal makeup artist who has styled more than a thousand brides since 2012. She runs Tejaswini Makeup Studio & Academy in Baner and still takes every bridal booking herself.

The Amalfi Coast is hot, bright and humid in summer, with reflected light from the sea and white walls. Her approach is a thin, sweat-resistant base, clean definition around the eyes and a finish that reads as glowing skin rather than shine.

Cliff villages also mean steps, narrow roads and no room for error. Every morning is planned on paper before anyone flies, including how the team and kit reach the venue.

What a Amalfi Coast bride gets

  • Two planning conversations (a third if needed) covering outfits, jewellery and venue light
  • No rushed trial: looks are decided in advance with your real styling
  • Tejaswini personally on every bridal look, with her own team for family makeup
  • A written timetable shared with your planner and photographer

Where the weddings happen

Ravello for weddings, Positano and Amalfi for the view.

The Amalfi Coast is a single winding road along the cliffs of the Sorrento peninsula, with towns tucked into its coves. Indian weddings cluster in Ravello, a quiet hilltop town above Amalfi famous for its villa gardens, and in a few cliff hotels between Amalfi and Positano.

Ravello has the gardens and the space: Villa Cimbrone and Villa Rufolo are both there, as is Belmond Hotel Caruso. Positano and Amalfi are better for portraits and boat trips than for large functions.

For makeup, the coast road is the constraint. It is narrow, slow and restricted for large vehicles in high season, so the team stays in the same town as the wedding, and transfers between towns are planned by boat where possible.

Allow this much time

Typical travel times the bridal team plans around.

Rough door-to-door estimates. Traffic, ferries and season change them, so we add a buffer to every one.

  • Naples airport (NAP) to Ravello1.5–2 hours
  • Naples airport to Positano1.5–2 hours
  • Ravello to Amalfi20–25 min
  • Amalfi to Positano by road40–60 min
  • Amalfi to Positano by ferryAbout 25 min
  • Amalfi to Conca dei MariniAbout 10 min
  • Rome to the Amalfi CoastAbout 3.5–4 hours by road or train and car

In summer, large coaches face restrictions on the coast road, and traffic can stop for long periods. For guests and the team, boats and minivans are more reliable than coaches.

Light and setting

How Amalfi Coast changes each look.

The coast gives you hard Mediterranean sun, sea reflections and warm, humid evenings. Each function’s makeup is planned for the light and heat it will face.

A wedding day in Amalfi Coast

How the bride’s day usually runs.

An example for late-afternoon pheras on a cliff terrace and a sunset reception. We rebuild it around your muhurat and your photographer.

  1. 07:30

Team sets up in the bridal suite

A cool room with window light; the team stays in the same town.

  2. 09:00

    Mothers and family first

Family makeup runs in a second room.

  3. 11:30

    Bride’s skin prep and base

Cooling prep and a humidity-proof base.

  4. 13:30

    Hair, eyes, jewellery and draping

A hairstyle set for sea breeze and humidity.

  5. 15:30

    Portraits in the shade

Garden paths and cloisters before the sun lowers.

  6. 17:30

    Baraat and pheras

Timed for softer light; one artist stays at the mandap with blotting papers.

  7. 20:00

    Change for the reception

A refreshed base and deeper lip for the sunset terrace.

Steps check: many Amalfi venues are reached by stairs or long garden paths. We plan the bride’s route, her shoes and where the train of her lehenga will be carried.

Questions

Amalfi Coast wedding makeup: what families ask.

Do you travel from India for Amalfi Coast weddings?

Yes. The team flies from Pune and covers every function for the bride, family and bridal party.

Which Amalfi venues do Indian families choose?

Villa Cimbrone, Belmond Hotel Caruso and Villa Rufolo in Ravello, and Monastero Santa Rosa in Conca dei Marini; each has its own guide here.

Is the Amalfi Coast good for a large Indian wedding?

It suits small to mid-sized weddings best. Space, roads and steps make very large weddings difficult.

Will the makeup survive the heat?

Yes, if it is built for it: humidity-proof base, long-wear eyes and a setting routine, with blotting and touch-ups through the day.

When is the best time?

May, June, September and early October.

How many days before should the team arrive?

At least one full day before the first function.

What does the family need to send for the team’s visas?

Confirmed rooms, flight bookings and a short letter describing the event. We send the exact list per person.

Can you do a Positano shoot?

Yes, usually early in the morning before the crowds, often with a boat.

Getting married on the Amalfi Coast?

Send the dates, venue or shortlist, the functions and how many people need hair and makeup. We will come back with availability and an itemised quote, with the team’s travel shown on its own line.
