Kemer is different
Mountain light changes the evening.
Belek is flat; Kemer is not. At Rixos Sungate the mountains behind the resort put the sun behind the peaks earlier than on the open coast, so golden hour arrives sooner and the evening turns cool and blue quickly. For a sunset pheras, we plan the bride’s portraits a little earlier than we would in Belek.
The resort is large, with eleven restaurants and a lively evening programme of DJs and live music. That makes it a natural fit for a high-energy sangeet. It is also about 45 minutes from Antalya airport, a little further than Belek, which we account for in the team’s arrival plan.
Sungate notes
What we plan differently here.
Plan for
Earlier sunset portraits because of the mountains
A warmer layer for evening photographs in spring and autumn
A sangeet look built for dancing and a long night
Pier portraits in the morning, when the sea is calm
Try not to
Schedule the team’s arrival on the same day as the first function
Rely on full-sun lighting after mid-afternoon in shoulder seasons
Book family makeup in rooms far from the bride’s building
Leave the dupatta unpinned on the piers

A resort that keeps every age busy.
Rixos Sungate has a five-acre kids’ club, a water park, a go-kart track and eleven restaurants. For a big Indian wedding with three generations, that matters: children are entertained, older guests have quiet pools and the couple’s friends have a lively evening programme.
For the bride, the challenge is keeping her own space calm. We ask for a villa or suite away from the family blocks, a separate family makeup room and a buggy plan for each function.
The two piers are lovely for morning portraits when the sea is calm, with the mountains rising behind. By evening, the light falls behind the peaks and the resort switches to music and lights; the sangeet look is built for that energy.
Tejaswini leads every bridal look personally and brings her own team from India for the family. For a lively resort like Sungate she builds the sangeet look to last a long night and plans earlier portraits for mountain light, details agreed in planning conversations long before travel.
