Isola delle Rose · Venetian lagoon
A private island with gardens, lawns and a rooftop over the lagoon, twenty minutes by boat from San Marco. JW Marriott Venice is where larger Indian weddings in Venice tend to land.

This is an India-based team: Tejaswini and her artists live and work in Pune and travel out for each booking. For Italy the team lands early, so nobody is rushed on the first morning.
The client covers the team’s airfare, Schengen visa fees and hotel rooms; these are quoted at cost, apart from the artist fee.

A little history
Sacca Sessola was created in the 19th century from dredged material and later housed a hospital. After decades of disuse, it was restored and reopened as a resort, renamed Isola delle Rose.
Today it has gardens, olive groves and lawns that are rare in Venice, plus a spa and rooftop spaces with views across the lagoon to the city.
For an Indian wedding, the island gives what the palazzi cannot: space for a mandap on a lawn and a large sangeet. For makeup it means everyone stays on the island, so mornings are calm and boats are only for outings into the city.
Function by function

Lagoon light from every side. A dewy, lightweight base with SPF and hair pinned well clear of the neck.

A party on the water or in a palazzo salon. Shimmer kept to the lids, a set base and hair secured for a boat ride.

Reflected light off the water all afternoon. A satin finish, waterproof eye products and a dupatta pinned at several points.

Venetian glass and candlelight. A refreshed base, a deeper lip and a highlight that glows rather than glares.
The wedding day
We ask for a room with good window light and a second room close by for family makeup, so the bride’s room stays calm.
Family looks run in parallel with the bridal skin prep, timed so nobody waits in the corridor.
Hydration, primer and a base built for open lagoon light and evening breeze.
Maang tikka, nath and dupatta set with the outfit on, checked from every angle the photographer will use.
First photographs while the makeup is at its freshest, before the busiest part of the day.
One artist stays near the mandap with a touch-up kit: blotting papers, powder, lip and spare pins.
New lip, refreshed eyes and a second hairstyle if planned; allow 60–75 minutes.
