Our team is based in India. We travel to the UK for your wedding.
Tejaswini’s studio is in Pune, India. There is no UK office and no local artist working under our name. For your wedding in the UK, the same artists who planned your looks fly out from India, land two to three clear days before the first function and stay until the last one.
Because the team travels from India, three things are always arranged and paid for by the family: return flights for each team member, accommodation in the UK for the full stay, and the team’s meals while they are with you. They sit on separate lines of the quote, so you always see exactly what is artist fee and what is travel. Below is exactly how a UK booking runs, step by step.
Step 1 · The wedding
Your looks, planned before we fly
- Video consultation for every function: outfits, jewellery and references.
- A written look-plan for mehndi, sangeet, wedding and reception.
- Final bridal-party numbers confirmed about 60 days out — this sets the team size.
- A trial after arrival is possible if scheduled; agree it in the quotation.
Step 2 · Travel
Flights from India
- Team: Tejaswini plus hair and extra artists as your numbers need.
- We send names and suggested timings; the family books and pays return flights from India.
- Usual arrival airports: Heathrow, Gatwick, Birmingham or Manchester, depending on the city.
- Please allow checked baggage — the kit travels with the team.
Step 3 · Stay
Rooms near the bride

- Twin-sharing is fine; what matters is being close for early starts.

Traditions
The UK says “Asian bridal”. It covers at least nine different briefs.
In Britain the industry standard term is Asian bridal; in India the same work is called Indian bridal. Either way these are genuinely different sets of drapes, jewellery weights and timings rather than one house look recoloured. Five with photographed sets below.

Tejaswini travels to the UK on a dedicated trip built around one wedding, not a tour with several bookings squeezed into a fortnight. Your dates are blocked out end to end, including the days either side, so no second client’s function competes with yours.
She lands two to three clear days before the first function, never the night before. That buffer covers flight disruption, allows recovery from a long-haul overnight so a pre-dawn start is worked fresh, and leaves room on the ground for a physical trial if you have asked for one. Flight numbers and arrival dates are sent to you in writing once booked.
The full professional kit travels as hand luggage wherever airline rules allow, with duplicates of the critical products split across bags — nothing essential is checked into the hold on the assumption it will arrive. Products are chosen in advance for UK conditions specifically: overwhelmingly indoor venues, warm hall lighting and flash photography, which is exactly where a heavy base goes flat and grey and a lighter, well-prepped one holds.
A multi-day luxury wedding is treated as one continuous brief rather than four separate bookings. Before travel, every function is planned against the ones on either side — what the mehndi needs to be so the skin is in good condition for the wedding morning, how the reception differs from the ceremony so the album has distinct acts, and where the bride should look softest versus most defined. That sequencing is the actual work, and it is why one artist across the whole week produces a different result from three artists booked separately.
On the ground, each day runs to a written schedule agreed with you and your planner beforehand: start time, order of people, how long the bride’s sitting takes, when the drape and jewellery go on, and the realistic transfer time to the venue. Bridal-party numbers are settled at quote stage rather than absorbed on the morning — beyond a certain size one artist cannot finish everybody without rushing the bride, so the quote either includes a second pair of hands or says plainly that the start time has to move.
Everything is quoted in pounds with the artist fee broken out per function and family-paid flights, accommodation and meals shown as their own separate line, so you can judge the travel on its own merits rather than accepting a single bundled number.

Who arranges the team’s flights, hotel and food?
The family. Return flights from India for each team member, accommodation in the UK for the full stay and the team’s meals while they are with you are arranged and paid for by the client, along with local transfers between venues. These sit on separate lines of the quote, apart from the artist fee.
UK brides mostly want light, natural makeup now. Is that what you do?
Yes, and it is the direction the whole studio works in. Sheer, well-prepped bases with clean definition rather than heavy coverage, so the bride still looks like herself in her own photographs. It also happens to last longer and photograph better under the indoor flash most UK venues are shot with.
Do you say “Asian bridal” or “Indian bridal”?
Both, because the UK and India use different words for the same work. In Britain the industry standard term is Asian bridal; in India it is Indian bridal. The traditions covered are the same either way.

Have you worked weddings in the UK before?
Her destination work so far has been across India — Goa, Udaipur, Jaipur and celebrations throughout the country — along with brides who travelled in from abroad to book her. UK weddings are taken on the same travel model: the same artist, the same kit, the same written schedule. She will tell you plainly what she has and has not done rather than implying otherwise.
What does it cost, and do you quote in pounds?
Every wedding is quoted individually in pounds, because the number depends on how many functions you need, how many people beyond the bride need hair and makeup, and the travel dates. Send your dates and function list for an itemised written quote with travel shown separately.
Do you do hair as well as makeup?
Yes. Bridal hairstyling and makeup are done by the same artist, along with lehenga, saree and dupatta draping. The hairline, the maang tikka and the dupatta pinning are one problem, not three.
Can you do the whole bridal party and family?
Yes, and it is worth flagging early. Tell us the likely maximum at enquiry so the start time and team size are planned around it rather than corrected on the morning.
Can we sit a trial?
The brief for every function is agreed over video call well before travel. A physical trial can be scheduled once she has arrived in the country — say so early so the travel dates allow for it.
