Fariyas has been one of Lonavala’s best-known resorts since the early 1980s, sitting on a hill above the town at around 700 metres. It is the practical luxury choice: close to the market and station, 163 rooms, a large main lawn and a banquet hall for the evenings. One thing to check early: a wedding directory notes that late music isn’t permitted and overnight events aren’t allowed. If your sangeet is meant to run late, get the cut-off time in writing.

Our approach
Planning the bridal side at Fariyas.
Fariyas is compact and central, which makes the logistics easier than at the sprawling estates. A few things still matter.
- Close to town, close to trafficBeing near the market is convenient for guests and slow on a holiday weekend. Even for an afternoon function we leave more time than the map suggests.
- Earlier eveningsIf music has an early cut-off, the sangeet starts earlier too — and so does the bride’s look. We plan the schedule backwards from the cut-off, not the dinner.
- Lawn by day, Galaxy by nightMost weddings here run the ceremony outdoors and the reception indoors. That means two different lighting conditions, and we plan the base and eye definition for each.
- A chamber for the familyBooking one of the smaller rooms as a getting-ready space keeps family looks out of the bride’s room and the morning on schedule.
