Jimmy Mistry built it as a set of themed spaces — a grand ballroom, terraces, decks and lawns — with a full adventure park next door to keep guests busy between functions. Here is how the spaces work for a multi-day wedding, what to ask about cost, and how we plan the bridal side.

What Della is like for a wedding.
Think of Della as several small venues on one estate. Each space has its own look, so a three-day wedding can feel different every evening without moving guests anywhere.

Space names and capacities are from wedding directories and the resort’s own wedding pages; Della does not publish a full capacity chart. Confirm seated numbers for your layout with the resort.
Stays range from standard rooms to suites with private jacuzzis and hilltop tents at Camp Della. The tents are reached by stairs only, which is worth knowing before you put grandparents or the bride’s getting-ready room up there.

Our approach
Planning the bridal side at Della.
A themed estate is wonderful for photographs and easy to underestimate for timing. These are the things we plan around.
- Match the look to the setDella’s spaces are strongly styled. We ask for decor references early and plan each look so the colours work with the backdrop, not against it.
- Getting-ready room close to the actionThe estate is large and some stays are uphill. We ask for the bride’s room near the main venue, with good daylight, and avoid the tents for the wedding morning.
- Guests disappear to the adventure parkFamily members who need looks have a habit of being on a zipline when their slot comes up. We share a written schedule with times for every look.
- Ballroom light versus lawn lightIndoor reception lighting is warmer and dimmer than daylight. The evening look gets more definition so it reads under ballroom lights and flash.
- On site the night beforeKunegaon is a short drive from Lonavala but a long one from Pune at dawn. For any morning function the team stays at or near Della.

How many guests can Della Resorts host for a wedding?
Wedding listings give the Yatha-Ahu-Vairyo ballroom a capacity of about 800 guests, with many smaller indoor and outdoor spaces for other functions.
How many rooms does Della Resorts have?
Sources vary: WeddingSutra lists 240 rooms including suites, while booking sites list up to 298 accommodations including the Camp Della tents. Ask the resort which categories are in your room block.
Where exactly is Della Resorts?
In Kunegaon, Maval, on the Lonavala side of the ghat, about 15 minutes by road from Lonavala station and next to Della Adventure park.
Do you do bridal makeup at Della Resorts?
Yes. Tejaswini is based in Pune and travels to Lonavala for weddings. Bridal looks are Rs 45,000 each and family looks Rs 20,000, with travel and stay quoted separately.
Can the bride get ready in a Camp Della tent?
We would not recommend it for the wedding morning. The tents are reached by stairs only and are further from the main venues; a room near the ceremony space with good daylight works much better.
What is the best season for a wedding at Della?
October to February for outdoor spaces. In the monsoon, plan the main functions in the ballroom and indoor banquets.
