Raffles Udaipur occupies its own 21-acre island on Udai Sagar, away from the city's busier lakes. The whole wedding happens on one island: gardens, a ballroom, a temple and a boat ride for every arrival.

The setting
A country estate on a 16th-century lake.
Udai Sagar was created in the 16th century under Maharana Udai Singh II, the founder of Udaipur, and is the last lake in the city's chain. Raffles chose an island in the middle of it for its first Indian hotel, which opened in August 2021.
The resort is laid out like an estate, with formal gardens, lawns, an old temple and lake views from every room. Guests are taken across by boat from a lakeshore arrival point.
The island is about half an hour from the old city. That distance is part of the appeal: once guests arrive, the wedding has the island to itself.
The island
