Indian Wedding Makeup Artist for La Mamounia, Marrakech

La Mamounia has been the address in Marrakech for a century — Churchill painted in its gardens, Hitchcock filmed in its halls. An India-based team, flying in for La Mamounia.

Tejaswini’s studio is in Pune, India. There is no Morocco office and no local artist working under our name. For your wedding at La Mamounia, the same artists who planned your looks fly out from India, land at least two clear days before the first function and stay until the last one.

Because the team travels internationally, three things are always arranged and paid for by the client: return flights for each team member, their Morocco visa arrangements, and accommodation in Morocco. They sit on separate lines of the quote, so you always see exactly what is artist fee and what is travel. Below is exactly how a Morocco booking runs, step by step.

Step 1 · The wedding

Your looks, planned before we fly

  • Video consultation for every function: outfits, jewellery and references.
  • A written look-plan for mehndi, sangeet, wedding and reception.
  • Final bridal-party numbers confirmed about 60 days out — this sets the team size.
  • A trial after arrival is subject to availability, schedule and fees; agree it in the quotation.
Step 2 · Travel

Flights for the team

  • Team: Tejaswini plus hair and extra artists as your numbers need.
  • We send names, passport details and suggested timings; the client books and pays return flights.
  • Compare current routes to Marrakech, including transit requirements and checked-baggage allowances.
  • Please allow checked baggage — the kit travels with the team.
Step 3 · Visas

Morocco visa arrangements

  • Check each team member’s passport, visa eligibility and permissions for the planned professional services before booking travel.
  • The client covers agreed visa costs. The application route and responsibilities are confirmed in the written booking.
  • Confirm the required documents with the official visa portal or Moroccan consulate; application and border-entry requirements differ.
  • Start permission and visa checks early, allowing time for additional documents or a consular application.
Step 4 · Stay

Hotel and on-ground

  • Rooms for the team at La Mamounia or within a few minutes of it.
  • Twin-sharing is fine; what matters is being close to the bride for early starts.
  • Airport and venue transfers arranged with your planner or hotel.
  • A quiet room or corner near the bride’s suite for the kit.

Included in our fee

  • Bridal makeup and hairstyling for each booked function
  • Saree, lehenga and dupatta draping; jewellery setting
  • Family and bridal-party makeup, per person as quoted
  • All professional products and kit
  • Look planning, video consultations and touch-up support as agreed in the quotation

Arranged and paid by the client

  • Return flights from India for every team member
  • Applicable visa and permission costs for the team
  • Accommodation in Morocco for the full stay
  • Airport and local transfers between venues
  • Any excess baggage charges for the kit

The gardens came first. In the 18th century the sultan gave this land to his son, Prince Moulay Mamoun, and the name has stayed. The hotel was designed by Henri Prost and Antoine Marchisio in the 1920s, mixing Moroccan craft with Art Deco, and over the following decades it hosted everyone from Winston Churchill — who painted here — to Alfred Hitchcock, who filmed scenes of The Man Who Knew Too Much on the property.

A renovation led by designer Jacques Garcia reopened the hotel in 2009, and a further refresh followed in 2020. Today there are 135 rooms, 71 suites and three riads, four restaurants including L’Asiatique by Jean-Georges and L’Italien by Simone Zanoni, Pierre Hermé tea rooms, bars including Le Churchill, and a spa with a hair and beauty salon.

The Indian connection is recent and growing. The hotel has reported a sharp rise in Indian guests and has toured Mumbai and Delhi specifically to meet travel professionals and destination-wedding planners. Ask the hotel how its gardens and salons can accommodate each function, including your seating plan, production and weather alternative.

Venue details checked against available official information in October 2026. Confirm event capacities, accommodation, vendor access, ceremony fire permissions, music curfews and a weather alternative in your venue contract. View the hotel’s official information. The wedding week here

Gardens by day, salons by night.

A grand-hotel wedding week alternates between garden light and evening interiors. The looks follow the same rhythm.

Bridal makeup at this hotel

La Mamounia’s light, and what it asks of makeup.

A grand hotel with warm interiors and sunny gardens needs two strategies.

Reception glow — bridal makeup by Tejaswini
Reception glow — a Tejaswini bride.
Warm interiors exaggerate warmthAmber light, brass and red-gold decor push skin warmer in photographs. Foundation is matched in daylight, and bronzer used sparingly.
Garden sun is directFor outdoor functions, discuss a suitable sunscreen, shade and touch-ups. Test the makeup in daylight and flash photography.
Long days between functionsA grand-hotel wedding often runs lunch to midnight. The base is built in thin layers that can be refreshed, not rebuilt.
Medina-edge timingLa Mamounia is on the edge of the old city, and evening traffic around it can be heavy. Guests and the team should stay close.

Getting-ready logistics

Practicalities at La Mamounia.

What we plan in advance for a wedding at the grande dame.

The best getting-ready room is a suite with good daylight and space for the bridal party, or one of the hotel’s riads if your budget allows — a private courtyard is a luxury on a wedding morning. Ask the hotel for the bride’s suite to be confirmed with the makeup team in mind: a window, a table and a quiet corner for jewellery.

La Mamounia’s spa includes a hair and beauty salon, which is useful for guests. For the bride, Tejaswini’s team handles hair, jewellery setting and draping as one job, because the hairline, the maang tikka and the dupatta pinning are one problem rather than three.

Because the hotel sits right at the medina walls, journeys after dark can slow down. When you confirm the team’s accommodation for their visa arrangements, rooms at the hotel or within a few minutes are best, so late receptions and early starts both stay safe.

Fair questions

Questions families ask about La Mamounia.

Raised plainly, because they are reasonable.

Indian bridal across a week is a specialismDraping, heavy jewellery and four or five planned looks are their own discipline. That is the only work Tejaswini does.
“Has Tejaswini worked at La Mamounia?”It deserves a straight answer.

Questions

Indian wedding makeup at La Mamounia.

9 answers specific to La Mamounia. Anything else, ask on WhatsApp.

Do you do Indian bridal makeup at La Mamounia, Marrakech?

Yes. Tejaswini’s India-based team flies to Marrakech for weddings at La Mamounia, covering bridal makeup, hair and draping for every function plus family makeup. Flights, visa arrangements and accommodation for the team are paid by the client.

Does La Mamounia host Indian weddings?

Yes. The hotel has hosted large Indian events and has promoted itself to Indian destination-wedding planners in Mumbai and Delhi. Confirm availability and capacity directly with the hotel.

How many guests can La Mamounia take?

Ask La Mamounia for a proposal for each function and layout. Confirm room inventory separately from seated or standing event capacity, and allow for a mandap, stage, catering and dance floor.

Where should the bride get ready?

A suite or one of the three riads, with good daylight. A second room for family makeup keeps the bride’s space calm.

How does La Mamounia’s lighting affect makeup?

Interiors are warm and golden, gardens are bright. We match foundation in daylight and keep warmth in the base restrained so it does not look orange indoors.

Is La Mamounia inside the medina?

It sits on Avenue Bab Jdid, against the medina walls, a short walk from Jemaa el-Fna and the Koutoubia.

Can you do the mothers and bridesmaids?

Yes — tell us the likely maximum at enquiry, because it decides how many artists travel from India.

What is the best season for a La Mamounia wedding?

Spring and autumn give warm, dry days and cool evenings, ideal for garden functions. Summer is very hot for outdoor daytime events.

How do we get a quote?

Send dates, functions and the number of people needing hair and makeup on WhatsApp or email.
