Indian Bridal Makeup for a Selman Marrakech Wedding

Selman Marrakech is theatre: Jacques Garcia interiors in black, gold and deep colour, a long palm-lined pool and a stable of purebred Arabian horses. It is the Marrakech venue that most naturally suggests a baraat on horseback. Tejaswini’s team flies from India to make the bride as dramatic — or as soft — as the setting deserves.

India-based. Travelling to Selman for your wedding.

Tejaswini’s studio is in Pune, India. There is no Morocco office and no local artist working under our name. For your wedding at Selman Marrakech, the same artists who planned your looks fly out from India, land at least two clear days before the first function and stay until the last one.

Because the team travels internationally, three things are always arranged and paid for by the client: return flights for each team member, their Morocco visa arrangements, and accommodation in Morocco. They sit on separate lines of the quote, so you always see exactly what is artist fee and what is travel. Below is exactly how a Morocco booking runs, step by step.

Step 1 · The wedding

Your looks, planned before we fly

  • Video consultation for every function: outfits, jewellery and references.
  • A written look-plan for mehndi, sangeet, wedding and reception.
  • Final bridal-party numbers confirmed about 60 days out — this sets the team size.
  • A trial after arrival is subject to availability, schedule and fees; agree it in the quotation.
Step 2 · Travel

Flights for the team

  • Team: Tejaswini plus hair and extra artists as your numbers need.
  • We send names, passport details and suggested timings; the client books and pays return flights.
  • Compare current routes to Marrakech, including transit requirements and checked-baggage allowances.
  • Please allow checked baggage — the kit travels with the team.
Step 3 · Visas

Morocco visa arrangements

  • Check each team member’s passport, visa eligibility and permissions for the planned professional services before booking travel.
  • The client covers agreed visa costs. The application route and responsibilities are confirmed in the written booking.
  • Confirm the required documents with the official visa portal or Moroccan consulate; application and border-entry requirements differ.
  • Start permission and visa checks early, allowing time for additional documents or a consular application.
Step 4 · Stay

Hotel and on-ground

  • Rooms for the team at Selman Marrakech or within a few minutes of it.
  • Twin-sharing is fine; what matters is being close to the bride for early starts.
  • Airport and venue transfers arranged with your planner or hotel.
  • A quiet room or corner near the bride’s suite for the kit.

Included in our fee

  • Bridal makeup and hairstyling for each booked function
  • Saree, lehenga and dupatta draping; jewellery setting
  • Family and bridal-party makeup, per person as quoted
  • All professional products and kit
  • Look planning, video consultations and touch-up support as agreed in the quotation

Arranged and paid by the client

  • Return flights from India for every team member
  • Applicable visa and permission costs for the team
  • Accommodation in Morocco for the full stay
  • Airport and local transfers between venues
  • Any excess baggage charges for the kit

Before travel is booked, confirm the team’s entry route and any permissions needed for paid bridal services with the Moroccan consulate and your planner. Scenes from around Marrakech, for atmosphere. These are not photographs of Selman Marrakech.

Selman is the work of the French designer Jacques Garcia, known for La Mamounia’s earlier renovation and for rich, theatrical interiors. Here the palette is black-and-white pattern, studded furniture, suede walls and zellige, around gardens of about six hectares and a long pool lined with palms.

Selman’s current accommodation pages list 30 rooms, 20 junior suites, five suites and five private villas. Discuss a villa or suite for bridal preparation, with the hotel confirming workspace and access. Check current spa and dining options directly when planning the stay.

Its signature is the horses. Selman keeps purebred Arabian horses in custom stables, and horse shows are part of its identity. For an Indian wedding, that invites an obvious idea — the groom arriving for the baraat on horseback — but whether and how the hotel’s horses can be involved is a question for the hotel and your planner. Ask Selman for capacity by event space and seating layout; a room count is not an event-capacity figure.

Venue details checked against available official information in October 2026. Confirm event capacities, accommodation, vendor access, ceremony fire permissions, music curfews and a weather alternative in your venue contract. View the hotel’s official information. The photographs and bridal work shown here do not document a Tejaswini wedding at this hotel.

Dark rooms swallow soft makeupBlack, gold and deep colour absorb light. Evening looks need more definition than in a white ballroom, without going heavy on the skin.
Check the base in daylightLow, warm interior light hides mismatched foundation. Every base is checked by a window before the bride leaves her room.
Outdoor horse arrivalIf the baraat is outdoors with horses, there is dust and sun. Hair is secured and a touch-up waits before the pheras.
Villas as getting-ready suitesA private villa with its own pool gives the bride daylight and space for her family. Confirm daylight, seating, power sockets and vendor access for your chosen room.

Getting-ready logistics

Practicalities at Selman.

Close to the airport, but plan the bride’s day carefully.

Selman sits on the Amizmiz road, around ten minutes from the airport and the medina. The team should stay at the hotel or nearby; rooms confirmed early allow the visa arrangements to be filed without delay.

If you book one of the five private villas for the bride, it becomes the getting-ready suite — private pool, daylight and space for close family. Makeup is done near the brightest window; the Garcia interiors are beautiful but dim.

If a horseback baraat is part of the plan, agree it with the hotel first. The bride’s timing changes with it: she needs to be ready before the groom’s arrival, with a touch-up planned before the pheras.

Fair questions

What couples ask about Selman.

Raised plainly, because they are reasonable.

“Can the groom arrive on a Selman horse?”The question almost every family asks.
Ask the hotel — it is their decisionThe horses belong to the hotel. Whether they can be part of a baraat is for the hotel and your planner to confirm. We plan the bride’s timing around whatever is agreed.
“Have you worked at Selman?”A fair question.
Not yetMorocco is new for the studio. Judge the work and the written plan.
