Paramount Riverfront Karjat Wedding: Rooms, Venues & Makeup

Karjat · On the banks of the Ulhas

Wedding at Paramount Riverfront, Karjat

Location: Murbad Road, Posari, Karjat 410201 · about two hours from Pune and Mumbai

Paramount is the mid-sized option on the Karjat list: a riverside resort with 110 rooms and a banquet for 300-plus, where a family wedding can take most of the property and feel private. It sits on the Ulhas near Posari, north of Karjat town, with the Sahyadri foothills behind. Here is what to expect and how we plan the bridal side.

  • 110 room keys

The venue

Why a mid-sized resort works well.

With 110 rooms and a banquet for a few hundred, a wedding of 200 to 300 guests can fill Paramount without spilling into other hotels — and that is often the most comfortable size for a destination wedding near home.

The resort has a dedicated weddings desk and a destination-wedding page; ask them for the outdoor spaces available on your dates, their capacities and the music cut-off. We could not find a reliable published capacity for the lawns, so we have not quoted one.

We are not affiliated with the resort and receive nothing for linking to it.

Our approach

Planning a riverside wedding.

The river is the reason to book Paramount, and also what we plan around.

  • Damp air by the waterRiverside functions are more humid than the lawns further back. We prep and set for it, and keep touch-up kits at the venue, not just in the room.
  • Portraits by the riverThe best couple photographs are on the bank in the hour before sunset. We finish the bride early so that hour isn’t spent in a chair.
  • Indoor plan for October and MarchEarly and late in the season, afternoons can be hot. The banquet makes a cool, well-lit space for daytime looks and family touch-ups.
  • A small wedding still needs a scheduleWith most guests on site, functions tend to run late. We set firm look times so the bride is never rushed.
