A medieval hamlet, a villa and hundreds of hectares of vineyards and woods. Il Borro gives a Tuscan wedding a whole estate to move between.

Tejaswini’s studio is in Pune, India, and there is no Italian branch or local stand-in working under her name. She travels for weddings and pre-wedding shoots, arriving ahead of the first function and staying until the last.
Return flights, Schengen visas and accommodation for the team are paid by the client and appear on separate lines of the quote.

Function by function

Long golden afternoons among olive trees and vines. A breathable base, a fresh flush and a relaxed braid or bun.

Lanterns, stone walls and a long night. Smoky eyes in warm browns and a base set for heat from a crowded dance floor.

Open sky and Tuscan sun. A long-wear satin base, warm gold on the lids and pins that hold the dupatta in a hillside breeze.

Candles and string lights outdoors. A glowing but controlled base, a deeper lip and a hairstyle that survives the evening chill.

A little history
Il Borro is an ancient estate in the Valdarno whose medieval village sits on a rocky spur above a stream. The Ferragamo family bought it in the 1990s and restored the village, the villa and the farm.
Today it is a hotel and wine estate with suites in the old village houses, a villa for larger groups, farmhouses among the vineyards and restaurants that use produce from its own organic farm.
For an Indian wedding, the estate’s size is the point: a mehendi in one corner, a sangeet in another and pheras on a lawn with the hills behind, all without leaving the property.
Specific to this venue
The wedding day
We ask for a room with good window light and a second room close by for family makeup, so the bride’s room stays calm.
Family looks run in parallel with the bridal skin prep, timed so nobody waits in the corridor.
Hydration, primer and a base built for open countryside light and lantern-lit evenings.
Maang tikka, nath and dupatta set with the outfit on, checked from every angle the photographer will use.
First photographs while the makeup is at its freshest, before the busiest part of the day.
One artist stays near the mandap with a touch-up kit: blotting papers, powder, lip and spare pins.
New lip, refreshed eyes and a second hairstyle if planned; allow 60–75 minutes.

Tejaswini
Tejaswini has styled more than a thousand Indian brides since 2012. At Il Borro she plans each function for its corner of the estate: a fresh, light look among the vines, a warmer smoky eye for the village sangeet and a long-wear golden-hour look for the pheras.
