A little history

A private villa in the quietest corner of a busy peninsula.

Sirmione is one of the most visited places on Lake Garda, with a moated castle at the gate of its old town and Roman ruins at its tip. Villa Cortine sits in its own walled park on the peninsula, far enough from the crowds to feel private.

The villa was built as a private residence in the early 20th century and later became a hotel. Its park, with fountains, statuary and tall trees, runs down to the water, and the long jetty is one of the most photographed spots on the lake.

For a bride, the park gives shade, which is rare on sunny Garda. We use it for portraits and keep the brightest lakefront spots for the golden hour.

Specific to this venue

Villa Cortine details we plan around.

Worth doing

  • Use the park’s shade for midday portraits
  • Plan jetty photographs for late afternoon
  • Check vehicle access in Sirmione’s old town in advance
  • Book the team’s rooms inside the hotel

Worth avoiding

  • Shimmer on the face for lakefront photos at noon
  • Long walks across gravel in heavy lehengas without a plan
  • Late music without checking the venue’s limits
  • Rushing the reception change

The wedding day

A typical Villa Cortine wedding day.

  1. 07:00

Team sets up in a villa suite with park views

We ask for a room with good window light and a second room close by for family makeup, so the bride’s room stays calm.

  2. 08:30

    Mothers and family first

Family looks run in parallel with the bridal skin prep, timed so nobody waits in the corridor.

  3. 10:30

    Bride’s skin prep and base

Hydration, primer and a base built for dappled park light and bright lakefront sun.

  4. 12:30

    Hair, eyes, jewellery and draping

Maang tikka, nath and dupatta set with the outfit on, checked from every angle the photographer will use.

  5. 14:00

Portraits under the park trees and on the jetty

First photographs while the makeup is at its freshest, before the busiest part of the day.

  6. 15:30

Baraat and pheras at the lawn by the lake

One artist stays near the mandap with a touch-up kit: blotting papers, powder, lip and spare pins.

  7. 19:00

    Change for the reception

New lip, refreshed eyes and a second hairstyle if planned; allow 60–75 minutes.

Villa Cortine questions

Bridal makeup at Villa Cortine Palace.

Do you provide Indian bridal makeup at Villa Cortine Palace?

Yes. Tejaswini’s team flies from India for weddings at Villa Cortine Palace and covers each function for the bride, family and bridal party. The team’s flights, Schengen visas and rooms are paid by the family.

Where does the bride get ready at Villa Cortine?

In a suite in the villa, ideally with a large window onto the park. A second room nearby works for family makeup.

Is Sirmione easy to reach on the wedding day?

Yes, but the old town has traffic restrictions. Your planner arranges vehicle permits or golf-cart transfers if needed.

Can the pheras be on the jetty?

The jetty is better for portraits; ceremonies usually happen on the lawn. We plan the wind-proof hairstyle either way.

Is Villa Cortine good for a mehendi?

The shaded park suits a daytime mehendi well, especially in early summer.

How do we get a quote for a Villa Cortine wedding?

Message us with the dates, functions and the number of people who need hair and makeup. The quote lists the artist fee and the travel costs on separate lines.
